The Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO) has announced that its subsidiary, Juthur Paper Manufacturing Company, has entered into a contract with Andritz AG, an Austrian firm. This agreement is for the creation, delivery, and installation of a new tissue production line, known as TM6.
The contract’s value is capped at 25% of MEPCO’s total revenue, according to the most recent audited financial statement. MEPCO’s reported revenue for 2023 was 866.75 million Saudi riyals, equivalent to $230.75 million.
This 24-month contract aims to acquire a comprehensive tissue paper production line, boasting an annual capacity of 60,000 tonnes and a speed of 2,100 meters per minute. Andritz AG will handle all aspects of manufacturing, supply, and installation.
In August, MEPCO’s board approved plans to double Juthur Paper Manufacturing’s production capacity by implementing the TM6 project, valued at SAR 345 million.
