Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 emphasizes economic diversification, with localisation and innovation as key drivers for industrial growth. The Kingdom’s leadership has promoted localisation through strong governance, transforming it into both a short-term success strategy and a tool for long-term development.

Emerson’s Localisation Journey

Emerson began its localisation efforts in Saudi Arabia with a manufacturing facility in Jubail in 2011. Over the years, it has expanded to include various manufacturing and assembly operations, focusing on building a skilled local workforce. Collaborations with educational institutions have strengthened this talent pipeline, aligning with Vision 2030’s goal to increase women’s workforce participation through mentorship and skill-building initiatives.

Facilities like the SPARK hub represent Emerson’s commitment to Saudi Arabia’s industrial future, supporting economic diversification, technological innovation, and continuous employee development.

Advancing Vision 2030

Localisation and innovation are crucial for Saudi Arabia’s industrial development. Companies like Emerson illustrate how a strong local presence and partnerships can enhance supply chain resilience, job creation, and economic self-reliance, supporting Vision 2030’s objectives.

Building a Resilient Industrial Base

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 emphasizes reducing import reliance and enhancing domestic capabilities. Initiatives like IKTVA and Nusaned support companies in embedding localisation into operations. Emerson’s sourcing of components like pressure-retained castings locally aligns with the ‘Made in KSA’ initiative, reducing costs and environmental impact.

Emerson has localized various automation technologies to meet Saudi market needs, creating an integrated ecosystem that supports industrial goals of safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Innovation: A Catalyst for Growth

Innovation is vital for Saudi Arabia’s global competitiveness, marked by adopting advanced manufacturing and sustainable technologies. The Emerson Collaboration Center exemplifies how innovation supports local industry growth and environmental goals.

The SPARK facility, designed with sustainability in mind, uses energy-efficient systems and renewable energy sources. Emerson’s collaborations with key Saudi operators focus on digitalisation, operational excellence, and sustainability, highlighting innovation’s role in industrial growth and environmental stewardship.

Looking forward, innovation, collaboration, and sustainability will continue to drive technological advancements, supporting Saudi Arabia’s aspirations for a diversified and resilient economy. The past decade’s experiences provide insights into leveraging global expertise with local insights to shape a prosperous industrial future.
