Saudi Arabia is set to strengthen its industrial and mining ties with Italy following a visit by the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Bin Ibrahim Al Khorayef.
Starting on October 14, Al Khorayef will explore potential collaborations in sectors like automotive, food, space, and marine industries, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s manufacturing development strategy.
The visit will span key cities such as Rome and Milan, focusing on industrial innovations and attracting investments in promising sectors, according to Saudi Arabia’s ministry.
In 2023, Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports to Italy amounted to $747 million, while imports from Italy reached $5.8 billion.
During his visit, Al Khorayef plans to meet with both government officials and private sector leaders, aiming to facilitate knowledge transfer and introduce smart manufacturing solutions to bolster economic relations.
His itinerary includes a meeting in Rome with Toni Piech of Piech Automotive and Pierroberto Folgiero of Fincantieri. Additionally, he will participate in a multilateral meeting organized by the Italian General Confederation of Industry, engaging with key figures like Barbara Cimmino, the federation’s vice president for export and investment attraction.
