The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) has unveiled new geological data packages, enhancing its National Geological Database (NGD) Portal. This release marks a significant step in supporting the growth of the mining sector with comprehensive geological insights, timed with SGS’s founding anniversary.
Covering 30% of the Arabian Shield, these data packages include surface geochemical and aerial geophysical survey information from the General Geological Survey Program. Additionally, the National Core Library (NCL) has achieved spectral scanning of over 70 kilometers of core samples and digitized more than 4000 technical reports focused on mineral deposit sites.
The NGD Portal acts as a central hub for geological data access, aiding researchers, industry experts, and investors in making informed decisions and fostering innovation within Saudi Arabia’s mining and mineral industry.
