China’s ZTT Submarine Cable & System has announced plans to build a manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia, aiming to strengthen its presence in the Middle East and support local industry growth, according to the company.

This initiative is designed to boost regional industrial development by bringing production closer to customers, improving response times, and tailoring solutions for Saudi Arabia and neighboring markets. ZTT emphasized that the investment aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly the push for industrial diversification and sustainable energy infrastructure.

In addition to this expansion, ZTT recently began constructing a state-of-the-art cable laying vessel intended for offshore wind projects, island connections, and grid expansion in the Asia Pacific region. The vessel will feature advanced technology, including dynamic positioning systems and a helicopter platform, to support complex subsea operations.

These efforts highlight ZTT’s commitment to advancing energy transition and infrastructure both regionally and globally.
