JINGDONG Logistics, known as JD Logistics, has introduced JoyExpress, a new self-operated B2C express delivery service in Saudi Arabia. JoyExpress offers customers across most regions fast doorstep delivery, including same-day or next-day options and cash-on-delivery, all managed by the company’s own trained couriers.
By operating its own delivery network, JoyExpress aims to provide reliable last-mile logistics while supporting job creation and advancing Saudi Arabia’s logistics industry. The company is building a local infrastructure of warehouses, transfer centers, and delivery stations, employing couriers, drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams. Enterprise clients can also access end-to-end supply chain logistics solutions.
JoyExpress extends its services with features like scheduled deliveries, address changes, temporary return storage, reverse pickups, and insurance. The service also facilitates cross-border shipping, customs clearance, and local transport, offering a comprehensive solution for both domestic and international trade.
JD Logistics is the logistics division of JD.com, China’s largest retailer by revenue, and is recognized for its extensive self-managed warehouse and delivery network. According to company data, JD Logistics operates over 3,600 warehouses and 19,000 delivery stations in China, employing nearly 510,000 frontline staff and serving more than 600 million customers and businesses.
Saudi Arabia’s Courier, Express, and Parcel (CEP) market is expanding rapidly, fueled by a tech-savvy population and the growth of e-commerce. Mordor Intelligence reports that the market is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 6.48% from 2025 to 2030, with B2C deliveries making up 56% of the market’s value in 2024.
His Excellency Mr. Rayan Albakri, Deputy Minister for Logistics Services at Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, welcomed the launch, highlighting that JD Logistics’ investment supports the Kingdom’s goal of becoming a global logistics hub and aligns with Vision 2030 by creating opportunities for employment and innovation.
Charlie Peng, Head of Middle East at JINGDONG Logistics, noted that JoyExpress is a significant step in JD.com’s international expansion and will bring advanced delivery and installation services to Saudi Arabia, further supporting Vision 2030’s focus on logistics and job creation.
With JoyExpress, JD Logistics has established a fully self-operated logistics chain in the Middle East, covering warehousing, transport, and last-mile delivery. The company plans to expand its warehousing network, international flight routes, and multimodal transport to better serve regional customers and partners.
