DHL Supply Chain is expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia with a major new logistics hub in Riyadh’s Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ). The project is designed to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and strengthen the Kingdom’s role as a global logistics gateway.
According to DHL, the company will invest €130 million (561.5 million SAR) to develop the facility on a 78,000 square meter site at SILZ under a 26-year land lease agreement. The hub will include 53,000 square meters of advanced multi-user warehouse space serving sectors such as technology, retail and consumer goods, automotive, energy, and e-commerce.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026, with completion targeted for the second quarter of 2027, according to DHL. The development forms part of a wider €500 million investment that DHL Group has announced for the Middle East through 2030.
Strategic role in Vision 2030 and regional logistics
Company leadership describes the Middle East as one of the fastest-growing logistics regions, with Saudi Arabia at its center. The new facility is intended to offer scalable, flexible infrastructure that supports high-growth industries, enhances supply chain resilience, and encourages global companies to base their regional distribution operations in the Kingdom.
SILZ’s management highlights the partnership as a key step in building next-generation smart logistics infrastructure. DHL will become an anchor logistics tenant at the zone, combining SILZ’s physical and regulatory platform with DHL’s international network and operational expertise.
Located roughly eight kilometers from King Khalid International Airport and linked through a bonded corridor, the hub will provide rapid access to global air routes. This proximity is expected to shorten lead times for imports and exports and better connect Saudi Arabia to major markets across Asia, Europe, and Africa.
DHL Supply Chain’s management in Saudi Arabia underscores that the project directly supports the Kingdom’s objective of becoming a global logistics hub under Vision 2030. The facility is expected to create new jobs and contribute to workforce development, aligning with national economic diversification goals.
The agreement marks an important milestone in DHL Supply Chain’s long-term growth strategy in Saudi Arabia. Both DHL and SILZ plan close cooperation during construction and ramp-up, with the hub anticipated to boost regional connectivity and unlock substantial economic value for the local logistics sector.
DHL, part of DHL Group, positions itself as a leading global logistics provider with end-to-end services spanning parcel delivery, express, freight transport, and supply chain management. According to DHL Group, the company generated approximately €84.2 billion in revenue in 2024 and aims to achieve net-zero emissions logistics by 2050, reflecting its commitment to sustainable operations and long-term growth in markets such as Saudi Arabia.
