EVIQ, a major player in Saudi Arabia’s electric vehicle infrastructure sector, has launched its inaugural highway charging station at SASCO Aljazeera, situated on the crucial Riyadh-Qassim highway. This development marks a significant stride in promoting sustainable transportation across the region.

The new charging station aims to ease long-distance travel challenges for electric vehicle users, potentially increasing EV adoption and supporting sustainable energy solutions in Saudi Arabia.

EVIQ’s Future Plans

This inaugural station is just the beginning of EVIQ’s ambitious plan to establish a comprehensive highway charging network throughout Saudi Arabia. The company plans to install more than 5,000 fast chargers by 2030, aligning with the Kingdom’s sustainability vision by providing reliable and accessible charging solutions.

Mohammed Bakr Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, emphasized the importance of this milestone, stating, The inauguration of our first highway EV charging hub at SASCO Aljazeera on the Riyadh-Qassim highway represents a pivotal moment in developing a robust and interconnected charging network across Saudi Arabia.

Gazzaz highlighted the initiative’s role in supporting the Kingdom’s shift towards sustainable transportation by ensuring efficient charging infrastructure along key highways. He also announced plans for further expansion, including routes such as Riyadh-Dammam and Mecca-Madinah, in addition to enhancing the Riyadh-Qassim route.

Strategic Collaboration with SASCO

SASCO’s collaboration in this electric vehicle charging initiative represents a substantial advancement in Saudi Arabia’s roadside infrastructure. By integrating EVIQ’s solutions into their service stations, SASCO is shaping the future of travel with eco-friendly transportation options.

Riyadh Almalik, CEO of SASCO, remarked, At SASCO, we are committed to evolving our services to meet the changing needs of travelers in Saudi Arabia. The introduction of EV charging stations at our locations is a significant step in supporting the Kingdom’s sustainability goals and providing innovative solutions for motorists.

Almalik further explained that the partnership with EVIQ ensures seamless and convenient charging options, reinforcing SASCO’s role as a key enabler of Saudi Arabia’s transition to electric mobility, with plans to expand this initiative to more locations across the country.
