Hithium Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., a leader in energy storage solutions, has partnered with Eng. Nabilah AlTunisi’s company, MANAT, to establish a joint venture called Hithium MANAT. This venture aims to build a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility in Saudi Arabia, targeting a production capacity of 5 GWh annually.
At the Solar & Storage Live KSA event, Hithium introduced its latest energy storage solutions designed specifically for desert environments. These systems feature advanced protection against sandstorms and extreme temperatures, with the ability to sustain discharge cycles exceeding 12 hours, tailored for the Middle East and Africa.
Eng. Nabilah AlTunisi emphasized the significance of this development, highlighting its potential to advance Saudi Arabia’s energy sector, create jobs, and support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals. This collaboration marks a step towards maintaining Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the global energy transition.
Sean Sun, General Manager of Hithium’s MEA region, stated that the partnership with MANAT reinforces Hithium’s dedication to local growth and development. By investing in a local BESS factory, Hithium aims to boost its global presence while aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
