JinkoSolar, a leading photovoltaic module manufacturer, has reached a significant milestone with Saudi International Power and Water Company (ACWA Power). This partnership aims to enhance solar energy production in Saudi Arabia, supporting the nation’s energy transition goals.

The collaboration involves supplying around 3 GW of photovoltaic modules for the PIF4 project, backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. This includes two sub-projects, Haden and Al-Khushaybi, collectively reaching a capacity of 3 GW.

Contract and Project Details

The Haden project, with a 1.2 GW capacity, is awarded to China Energy Engineering Group Consortium. It will utilize JinkoSolar’s high-performance Tiger Neo N-type 78 series modules, known for their durability and ability to withstand harsh conditions like high temperatures and sandstorms.

The Al-Khushaybi project, offering 1.8 GW capacity, is executed by Indian company Larsen & Toubro (L&T). This project will use JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo N-type 66 series modules, ensuring high energy efficiency and reliability, crucial for the demanding Saudi market.

Technology and Advantages

JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo modules feature advanced N-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology, reducing degradation and enhancing long-term performance. These modules are designed for high efficiency in extreme temperatures, making them ideal for Saudi Arabia’s environment.

Impact on Saudi Arabia’s Goals

The partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. By investing in cutting-edge solar technology, the nation boosts its renewable energy capacity, decreasing reliance on fossil fuels.

Additionally, JinkoSolar plans to partner with the Saudi Public Investment Fund to build a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, promoting local solar module production and job creation in the renewable sector.

Future Prospects

This 3 GW contract strengthens JinkoSolar’s position in the global solar market. Collaborating with ACWA Power and other Saudi partners, the company is poised for future projects, enhancing its presence in the Middle East.

Future plans include expanding production in Saudi Arabia and adopting more advanced technologies to meet the rising demand for clean energy, reflecting JinkoSolar’s dedication to innovation and sustainability.
