Schneider Electric has introduced its flagship Lauritz Knudsen brand to Saudi Arabia, expanding its presence in low-voltage electrical distribution and automation solutions. This move follows the company’s acquisition of L&T Switchgear in 2020 and highlights Schneider Electric’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s digital and energy transformation goals, according to the company.
The launch was marked by an event in Riyadh attended by over 150 industry representatives and media, with Mohamed Shaheen, Chief Executive Officer of Schneider Electric for Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Yemen, and Bahrain, and Golsa Fouladinejad, Vice President of Strategy for the Middle East and Africa, among the key speakers.
Lauritz Knudsen’s arrival aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to drive innovation and efficiency in critical infrastructure, industry, and homes. Schneider Electric’s local manufacturing facility in Dammam, which spans 7,000 square meters, will produce Lauritz Knudsen panels and related products, ensuring swift delivery and support for local customers.
Naresh Kumar, Senior Vice President of Lauritz Knudsen, emphasized the brand’s legacy of engineering excellence and its mission to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions tailored to the Saudi market. Lauritz Knudsen, with over seventy years of experience and a significant manufacturing presence in India, is recognized for powering vital sectors such as energy, water, airports, manufacturing, and healthcare.
As Saudi Arabia targets generating 50% of its power from renewables by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2060, according to Schneider Electric, advanced electrical infrastructure will be essential. Lauritz Knudsen is positioned to support these national ambitions with future-ready, sustainable technologies.
This launch underscores Schneider Electric’s ongoing partnership with the Kingdom, building on more than forty years of collaboration across both public and private sectors.
