Saudi Aramco Technologies Company (SATC) and BYD have entered into a joint development agreement to advance new energy vehicle technologies, according to a company statement.
The collaboration seeks to leverage the strengths of both organizations to create solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact. His Excellency Ali A. Al-Meshari, Aramco’s Senior Vice President of Technology Oversight and Coordination, emphasized that the partnership aligns with Aramco’s commitment to energy efficiency and innovative lower-carbon transport solutions. He highlighted the need for multiple approaches to support a practical energy transition.
Luo Hongbin, Senior Vice President of BYD, noted that openness and collaboration are crucial for technological breakthroughs, expressing confidence that the partnership will yield high-performance, lower-carbon solutions for the global climate challenge.
By combining Aramco’s expertise in energy and chemicals with BYD’s leadership in new energy vehicles and batteries, the agreement aims to drive significant progress in next-generation vehicle technologies.
