Saudi Arabia is on track to be the inaugural G20 member to comprehensively adopt LED lighting for street illumination, aiming to significantly reduce energy consumption, as announced by a senior official from the National Energy Services Co., or Tarshid.
During the ‘Saudi Vision 2030 Outlook’ discussion at the Global Project Management Forum 2024, held in Riyadh from June 2nd to 3rd, Tarshid’s Technical Services Director, Mohammed Muaafa, shared insights on the company’s extensive work in conserving electricity. Their initiatives span numerous commercial and residential projects within the nation.
The undertaking aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious plans to generate half of its electricity from renewable sources by the year 2030 and to reach net-zero emissions by 2060.
