Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, met with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in Riyadh to review progress in the Kingdom’s nuclear energy program, according to Saudi Gazette.
Their talks addressed technical and regulatory cooperation, the implementation of top international safety standards, and achievements made through joint Saudi-IAEA initiatives. They also discussed preparations for the International Conference on Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Preparedness and Response, which Saudi Arabia will host in Riyadh in December 2025, in collaboration with the IAEA and under the supervision of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission.
This meeting underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to developing its nuclear sector and building expertise through international collaboration. These efforts support Vision 2030’s objective of diversifying energy sources by incorporating peaceful nuclear energy to promote sustainability.
