Sineng Electric has supplied high-efficiency photovoltaic systems for a 65MW solar plant in Saudi Arabia, now fully operational, according to Sineng Electric. Developed with solution provider LBPKSA, the facility delivers clean power to the Shuaibah 3 Independent Water Project, a major seawater desalination plant on the Red Sea coast.
Built by the Shuaibah 3 Company with Doosan Enerbility as the main EPC contractor, the project is considered a regional benchmark for integrating solar power into critical infrastructure. Operating in harsh desert conditions, it relies on Sineng Electric’s 6.6MW medium-voltage turnkey solution, which includes a transformer and RMU for compact, reliable operation, according to Sineng Electric.
The system is designed for up to 99% maximum efficiency and supports a DC/AC ratio of up to 1.8, helping increase energy yield and cut system costs, according to Sineng Electric. Its ability to handle larger block sizes also simplifies installation and maintenance, contributing to a lower Levelized Cost of Energy.
Sineng Electric stated that its participation in this project supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the country’s long-term net-zero targets. The company highlighted the plant as an important step toward expanding renewable energy use in the region’s power and water sectors.
