Safeer, a partnership between TotalEnergies and Zahid Group, has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement with Golden Chicken to build a solar power facility at Golden Chicken’s site in Saudi Arabia. This initiative reflects both companies’ dedication to promoting renewable energy within the Kingdom, according to project details.
The solar plant will have a capacity of 5.18 MWp (4.13 MWac) and is projected to produce over 13 GWh of clean electricity each year. According to the companies, the project will help Golden Chicken meet its environmental objectives and cut reliance on traditional energy sources. The facility is expected to prevent 6,710 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, supporting Saudi Arabia’s broader environmental efforts.
Equipped with 8,160 photovoltaic modules and inverters, the plant will use a solar tracking system to optimize energy output by following the sun’s path during the day.
This agreement supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to boost renewable energy use and lower carbon emissions, further advancing the Kingdom’s sustainable energy goals.
