A new $186 million concrete plant is set to be established as part of the ambitious Neom development in Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk Province. This facility will be developed and operated by the Saudi building materials company, Asas Al-Mohileb.
The plant aims to produce over 20,000 cubic meters of ready-mix concrete daily. Notably, it will incorporate carbon capture and utilization technology, highlighting a commitment to sustainable construction practices.
Most of the concrete produced will support “The Line,” a visionary city designed to accommodate 9 million residents within a compact footprint of 200 meters wide and 170 kilometers long. Construction has already commenced, with concrete forming the backbone of both its substructure and superstructure.
Nadhmi Al-Nasr, Neom’s CEO, emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “The delivery of these concrete plants is a testament to the rapid progress at Neom and underscores the Kingdom’s robust construction sector and the importance of local partnerships.”
The facility is expected to begin operations in 2025, creating 500 new jobs for locals, further boosting the regional economy.
