Nabatat Contracting Company (NCC), a leader in Saudi Arabia’s landscaping and agriculture sector, plans to invest SAR 350 million ($93 million) in the Kingdom’s manufacturing sector. The company also aims to expand into other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
NCC Chairman, Waleed Hamed Al Khaldi, highlighted the shift in foreign companies’ perspectives, noting that establishing manufacturing units in Saudi Arabia has become more appealing. He emphasized that the Saudi government’s Vision 2030 encourages local production, with support from initiatives like SABIC’s Nusanet.
The company, with a project portfolio valued at SAR 4.2 billion ($1.1 billion), collaborates with major clients such as Red Sea Global and NEOM. NCC is enhancing its local manufacturing capabilities, particularly in greenhouse technology and recycling food waste into compost.
In addition to local collaborations, NCC is working with international partners from China and Korea to produce sustainable materials like plastic pots and compost. The company has secured potential investment from SABIC for a SAR 75 million ($20 million) project.
For financing, NCC maintains strong relationships with local banks like Riyadh Bank and Al Rajhi Bank, facilitating project financing for new investors and technology providers.
Future Expansion
As part of its growth strategy, NCC has invested SAR 50 million ($13 million) to establish a presence in Bahrain and plans to expand into Dubai, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait over the next five years.
Originally based in Dammam, NCC has expanded to 16 cities in Saudi Arabia, achieving significant revenue growth from SAR 300 million ($80 million) to SAR 1.2 billion ($320 million) in five years. The company’s nursery operations have also grown, with facilities now covering over 1 million square meters across multiple locations.
NCC is involved in the Green Riyadh project, an ambitious urban afforestation initiative. The project includes planting 2.5 million trees and supports Riyadh’s aim to rank among the world’s top 100 livable cities, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.
