In a strategic move to modernize its industrial sector, Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) has formed an alliance with the Singapore-based International Center for Industrial Transformation (INCIT) to promote the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI), an Industry 4.0 blueprint developed in Singapore, throughout the Kingdom.
The comprehensive SIRI framework provides a range of digital tools and guidelines designed to assist manufacturers from various sectors in initiating, expanding, and maintaining their digital industrial transformation efforts.
NIDLP’s vision is to elevate Saudi Arabia into a prominent industrial and global logistics leader, enhancing the mining and energy sectors’ value and fully leveraging local content along with the capabilities of the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).
The program is dedicated to nurturing a dynamic investment climate to support the Kingdom’s move towards sustained economic diversification.
With the goal of implementing SIRI in 4,000 manufacturing entities nationwide, NIDLP is poised to develop a lasting competitive edge that will boost Saudi Arabia’s prominence as an appealing investment destination.
Suliman Almazroua, CEO of NIDLP, announced the planned establishment of a training and certification hub focused on the SIRI framework. This hub is intended to cultivate comprehensive understanding and establish a prioritization framework for digital transformation within the manufacturing sector.
Almazroua emphasized the importance of raising awareness and setting digital transformation goals for manufacturers. He also mentioned the appointment of local experts to champion the widespread adoption of SIRI, drawing from their experience in industry, government ministries, or business consultancy.
The SIRI index is a global facilitator for the uptake of Industry 4.0 technologies, encompassing the critical elements of process, technology, and organization integral to Industry 4.0.
