Saudi Logistics Services (SAL) has appointed Omar Hariri as its new CEO, starting November 1, 2024, following board approval.
Hariri, a prominent figure in the Saudi transport and logistics industry, brings over 20 years of experience. He previously served as President of the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) until October 2024, where he significantly advanced the sector by implementing strategic initiatives and embracing digital technologies to enhance port operations.
His efforts at Mawani improved Saudi Arabia’s global logistics rankings, highlighting the country’s increasing influence in international trade.
Hariri’s return to SAL is notable, as he formerly led both SAL and Saudia Cargo, contributing significantly to SAL’s transformation and growth in the regional logistics market. His leadership saw SAL emerge as a crucial player in the industry.
Beyond Saudi Arabia, Hariri held senior roles in major global logistics firms, including CEO of FedEx Express and Vice President of DHL Express in Saudi Arabia. His extensive expertise aligns with SAL’s goals of operational excellence and global expansion.
This leadership change follows the resignation of SAL’s previous CEO, Faisal Albedah, effective November 1, 2024. Albedah’s tenure was marked by significant achievements, including the launch of strategic fulfillment services to reshape the Kingdom’s logistics sector.
