TT Club, a prominent international insurer specializing in transport and logistics, has formed a strategic reinsurance partnership with The Company for Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya), Saudi Arabia’s leading insurance provider.
This collaboration has resulted in a new liability insurance product specifically designed for the transport and logistics sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Approved by the country’s insurance regulator for launch in January 2025, the product allows Saudi logistics and transport firms to access global-standard liability coverage through Tawuniya, with TT Club serving as the reinsurer, according to company statements.
The initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goal to become a global logistics center. Both companies aim to address the evolving risk landscape by offering specialized liability coverage that meets international standards.
Kevin King, Chief Executive Officer of TT Club, emphasized that as Saudi logistics operators grow internationally, robust risk management—including specialist liability insurance—is essential for protecting operations and supporting sustainable expansion.
Rather than a traditional joint venture, this partnership is a commercial collaboration designed to deliver advanced insurance solutions within Saudi Arabia’s regulated market.
Sultan Alkhomashi, Chief Executive Officer of General Sector at Tawuniya, stated that the partnership enhances Tawuniya’s ability to provide world-class insurance to Saudi logistics operators, contributing to safer supply chains and the Kingdom’s vision of becoming a logistics powerhouse.
In addition, TT Club recently appointed Saffia Abdulla Kanoo to its Board of Directors. As Vice President and International Business Director at Kanoo Logistics, she brings decades of leadership in air cargo, shipping, and specialized logistics across the Middle East, further strengthening TT Club’s commitment to industry safety and sustainability.
TT Club is recognized for its expertise in mutual insurance and risk management for the global transport and logistics industry, supporting operators in minimizing risks and securing long-term success.
Tawuniya, established in 1986 as Saudi Arabia’s first nationally licensed insurer, offers a wide range of cooperative insurance services aligned with Islamic law. It has been named among the top insurance brands in the Middle East and was awarded Best Health Insurance Brand in the Kingdom in 2022, according to Global Brands magazine.
