The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has partnered with the King Salman International Airport (KSIA) to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s status as a global logistics hub. This collaboration aims to enhance various aspects of the cargo and logistics sector both regionally and globally.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines several key areas of cooperation:
- Promotion: Collaborative efforts to highlight the vital role of cargo and logistics in improving the quality of life for communities and businesses worldwide, with a focus on Saudi Arabia.
- Training and Capacity Building: Leveraging TIACA’s training programs to bolster the capabilities within the Saudi logistics ecosystem and nurture future industry leaders.
- Innovation: Sharing best practices and emerging technologies to advance the cargo and logistics sector, positioning it as an industry leader.
- Sustainability: Joint initiatives to promote sustainable practices in air cargo, focusing on decarbonization, waste reduction, and social inclusivity.
TIACA Chair, Steven Polmans, emphasized the importance of this agreement, stating it underscores the association’s mission to unite the industry and foster innovation. He expressed enthusiasm about working with KSIA to advance air cargo globally.
Marco Mejia, Acting CEO of KSIADC, remarked that this strategic alliance is a milestone for KSIA, reinforcing its commitment to providing top-tier logistics solutions and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s economic growth.
Glyn Hughes, TIACA’s director general, noted the organization’s focus on promoting air cargo’s significance, training future leaders, and encouraging innovation. He views the MoU as a natural progression in their efforts to achieve these goals alongside KSIA.
