The Saudi Intermobility Expo 2024 is set to explore the future of transportation in the Middle East. Scheduled from November 11-13 at the Jeddah International Exhibition & Convention Center, it will feature discussions on topics such as road, rail, smart mobility, electric vehicles, and metro development.
Organized by Informa, with ITS International as the media partner, the event has previously been hosted in Dubai and Riyadh. The Roads General Authority (RGA) of Saudi Arabia is the strategic partner, highlighting the kingdom’s extensive road infrastructure and ambitious plans to upgrade its transport network.
Saudi Arabia boasts over 71,500km of roads and aims to convert 49,000km of single-lane roads into dual lanes. Additionally, a 5,330km railway network is in the works, including the high-speed link between Mecca and Medina. These initiatives align with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, aiming to boost non-oil revenues significantly by 2030.
RGA CEO Eng. Badr Abdullah Al-Dulami emphasized the event’s role in fostering business opportunities and exploring innovative transport solutions. He noted the importance of advancements in the Saudi Highway Code, which will serve as a technical reference for road authorities.
Key contributors to the Expo’s agenda include National Transport Safety Center, Red Sea Global, Neom, Saudi Aramco, and Tahakom. The event expects over 7,000 visitors from 30 countries, featuring exhibitors like Makani Parking and Swarco.
The Expo will also host the Road Infrastructure Congress, focusing on smart infrastructure, sustainability, urban planning, and technology.
