The Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, engaged in a strategic dialogue with the chairman of the Arab Mining Company, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shehhi, during a visit to Jordan. Their conversation centered on bolstering collaborative efforts within the mining sector.
Together, Alkhorayef and Al-Shehhi examined the potential for capitalizing on the mining assets present in both nations. The vice minister of mining affairs, Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, was also present at these discussions, as reported by SPA.
In addition to these talks, Alkhorayef’s visit included engagements with representatives from Jordanian mining enterprises. His dialogue with the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company focused on cooperative strategies in phosphate mining and production, considering Saudi Arabia’s rich phosphate deposits.
Furthermore, the minister deliberated on collaborative initiatives with executives from the Arab Potash Company. They assessed the advancements following the implementation of a memorandum of understanding between the company and the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden), which is expected to foster cooperation in the field of specialized fertilizers and related products across both countries.
This visit is illustrative of Saudi Arabia’s dedication to enhancing the Saudi-Jordanian economic partnership, particularly in the industrial and mining sectors. The intention is to share knowledge, draw investments, generate employment opportunities, and promote deeper economic integration between the two nations on various levels.
