Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is making significant strides in the gold mining sector with strategic agreements secured during a visit to China. Led by CEO Jonathan D. Cordero and Chairman Suliman Alothaim, the company aims to enhance production efficiency and sustainability.

Key Partnerships for Growth

SGR signed a crucial agreement with Zenith Minerals Company, which includes a technical feasibility study and an EPC contract. This partnership is expected to reduce the time from gold discovery to production by up to 70%, marking a major efficiency improvement.

In a move towards eco-friendly practices, SGR partnered with Sandioss New Materials Company to introduce green chemical reagents into their refining processes. This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability.

A strategic framework agreement with CNNC – Geological Science and Technology Company was also secured, focusing on establishing exploration and education centers in Saudi Arabia. These centers aim to develop local talent, supporting the nation’s vision of a skilled mining workforce.

Additionally, SGR collaborated with the Beijing Research Institute of Geology to accelerate mineral exploration in the Gunthar region through advanced geological research.

Emphasis on Sustainability

CEO Jonathan D. Cordero highlighted the dual focus of these agreements on speeding up production and enhancing environmental responsibility. He stressed the importance of growth with a commitment to sustainability.

Chairman Suliman Alothaim emphasized the deals’ role in strengthening Saudi Arabia’s mining industry and diversifying the economy, expressing confidence in Cordero’s leadership.

Advancing Saudi Arabia’s Mining Sector

Saudi Arabia is expanding its mining sector to reduce reliance on oil, seeking foreign expertise and technology. SGR’s recent agreements in China reflect its dedication to these national goals, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to lead in responsible mining.

About Saudi Gold Refinery

As a leading company in Saudi Arabia’s gold refining and mining industry, SGR is committed to boosting production and sustainability. The company plays a crucial role in supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 economic diversification strategy.
