His Excellency Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia met with US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright in Riyadh to discuss enhancing cooperation in mining and minerals. Their discussions focused on deepening the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States, particularly in areas crucial to the energy transition, advanced technologies, and the electric vehicle industry, according to official ministry sources.
Both sides highlighted the importance of minerals for clean energy and explored opportunities for increased economic collaboration and investment. His Excellency Bandar Alkhorayef also extended an invitation to Secretary Wright to participate in the Future Minerals Forum, set to take place in Riyadh next year.
During his visit, Secretary Wright toured King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, where he was welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, and university leadership. Secretary Wright learned about the university’s academic and research strengths, its focus on innovation, and its international partnerships, especially with US institutions. These collaborations aim to promote knowledge exchange and prepare students for global careers.
This visit highlights the ongoing commitment of both nations to strengthen ties in research, education, and the energy sector.
