The Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, recently convened with Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shehhi, the chairman of the Arab Mining Company, in Jordan. Their talks centered on enhancing collaborative efforts within the mining industry. The discussions, which also included the vice minister of mining affairs, Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, aimed to maximize the rich mining resources possessed by Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
Amidst his official itinerary in Jordan, Alkhorayef engaged in strategic dialogues with executives from Jordanian mining entities. One significant exchange occurred with representatives from the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, where they considered joint ventures in phosphate mining and processing, capitalizing on Saudi Arabia’s extensive phosphate deposits.
Furthermore, Alkhorayef discussed potential cooperation with personnel from the Arab Potash Company. They assessed advancements in the application of a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden), which intends to boost collaborative ventures in specialized fertilizers and related products across the two nations.
The minister’s visit underscores Saudi Arabia’s dedication to reinforcing economic collaboration with Jordan, particularly in the mining and industrial sectors. The overarching goal is to share knowledge, stimulate investment, generate employment opportunities, and bolster economic unity between the two countries at various levels.
