The Saudi Arabian aviation sector is poised for an upgrade with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in its supply chain management, according to a leading industry executive. At the inaugural day of the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, Suliman Almazroua, the CEO of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, spoke of how AI will not only streamline logistics but also improve overall productivity and the customer experience.
Almazroua emphasized the transformative power of rapid technological advancements in the industry, stating, AI in logistics is shaping and optimizing the supply chain management, improving productivity, productivity maintenance, and enhancing customer experience.

Oliveira highlighted the industry’s ability to rebound despite facing macroeconomic challenges such as geopolitical risks, inflation, and interest rate changes, which all impact the sector’s operations.
Oliveira raised concerns over the rising jet fuel costs, which are a significant expense for airlines and consequently affect ticket prices and the industry’s capacity to operate flights.
Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport AG, commented on the dawn of a new era characterized by innovation, sustainability, and the fusion of different cultures. Schulte outlined increasing customer expectations for seamless, digital, and eco-friendly processes in aviation.
The Future Aviation Forum, organized by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, spans three days and includes discussions on global aviation, air transport, and the importance of environmental sustainability within civil aviation. The event also features dialogues on fostering advanced air transport and enhancing international connectivity.
This gathering also corresponds with Saudi Arabia’s strategic goal to lead the aviation sector over the next decade, which includes attracting investments of up to $100 billion by 2030.
