Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with consulting firm Efficio to enhance supply chain, procurement, and local content capabilities across the Kingdom’s healthcare system.
The MoU was concluded during the eighth Global Health Exhibition 2025 and supports the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program, a key pillar of Saudi Vision 2030. This national program is focused on creating a more comprehensive, efficient, and integrated healthcare model, with an emphasis on better access to care, innovation, financial sustainability, and disease prevention.
As part of the collaboration, Efficio will help the ministry upgrade and professionalize supply chain and procurement practices across the healthcare value chain. Strengthening these functions is intended to ensure smoother logistics, more reliable service delivery, and improved overall system performance.
A central element of the agreement is promoting local content within the healthcare sector. This involves increasing the share of goods, services, workforce, and technologies that are sourced or produced inside Saudi Arabia, supporting the country’s broader economic diversification efforts.
Efficio described the partnership as an extension of its commitment to Saudi Vision 2030, highlighting its aim to drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainable value in the Kingdom’s healthcare system. The ministry has also recently entered into additional MoUs with King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center, Alinma Bank, King Saud University, and global healthcare technology company Abbott, reflecting a wider push to strengthen the sector through strategic collaborations.
In combination, these agreements are designed to modernize healthcare operations, expand digital and e-health solutions, and align services with international standards for the benefit of patients across Saudi Arabia.
