CO2Wall, a Netherlands-based environmental technology firm, has launched operations in Saudi Arabia, marking a key step in its global expansion, according to company statements. Supported by AstroLabs, a prominent business expansion platform in the Gulf, CO2Wall has opened a new office in Riyadh to deliver its specialized green wall and roof systems.
These climate solutions are designed to improve urban air quality, regulate building temperatures, and enhance biodiversity, while also reducing energy usage. The company’s technology, which includes AI-monitored vegetation structures, is already being used in major government projects across Saudi Arabia and the UAE, according to CO2Wall.
Gerwin Pul, Founder and CEO of CO2Wall Group BV and General Manager of CO2Wall Group KSA, stated that this move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 sustainability and carbon neutrality objectives. He credited AstroLabs with accelerating the company’s entry into the Kingdom.
Alex Nicholls, Director of Expansion at AstroLabs, highlighted Saudi Arabia’s role as a leader in adopting innovative sustainability solutions, positioning CO2Wall at the forefront of green infrastructure initiatives.
CO2Wall’s main offerings—AI-powered green walls and roofs—help purify air, absorb carbon dioxide, and reduce noise, while also providing visually appealing, functional spaces. The company’s solutions are widely implemented in Europe and are developed in collaboration with universities in Germany and the Netherlands.
By establishing a presence in Riyadh, CO2Wall aims to contribute to local job creation, support the green economy, and offer fully Saudi-made products, furthering the Kingdom’s energy transition goals.
