“I am elated to join the FedEx team and am committed to nurturing robust partnerships with governing bodies, upgrading our offerings and network, and empowering local enterprises to fully leverage international trade capabilities,” stated Abdulrahman Al-Mubarak, upon his appointment.
Projections show that the Middle East will play a formidable role in the expansion of global trade, with an increase from US$21 trillion in 2023 to an anticipated US$32 trillion by 2030, as per the Future of Trade report by Standard Chartered. Since 1994, FedEx has been a catalyst for trade in Saudi Arabia, delivering international services through local intermediaries. In 2021, the company declared its move towards a direct presence in the nation, signifying its dedication to catering to the rising international shipping needs of Saudi Arabia and aligning with the country’s Vision 2030 to diversify its economy.
