Riyadh is set to host the Global Logistics Forum, bringing together major players like MAERSK, Saudia Group, and Aramex from October 12-14. This event, organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, aims to enhance supply chain efficiency, resilience, and sustainability.
The forum will attract 10,000 attendees and feature over 120 speakers, including global leaders and experts in logistics. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, emphasizing economic diversification and making logistics a priority sector.
The logistics industry in Saudi Arabia is experiencing rapid growth, with a 76 percent rise in new business registrations in the second quarter of 2024. Vice Minister Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih highlighted the forum as a pivotal moment for the global logistics industry, emphasizing its role in shaping the future of this critical sector.
Ibrahim Al-Omar, director general of Saudia Group, expressed the company’s commitment to Vision 2030, seeing the forum as an opportunity to engage with global leaders and enhance Saudi Arabia’s position as a logistics hub. Saudia Group aims to foster innovation and collaboration within the industry.
Aramex CEO, Othman Aljeda, shared excitement about the partnership, noting the opening of a new regional hub in Riyadh. Aramex aims to contribute to operational excellence and sustainable growth in the region’s logistics sector through this collaboration.
The forum will also facilitate agreements between industry leaders, strengthening global connectivity and ensuring a more resilient logistics network.
