Saudi Arabia’s Special Integrated Logistics Zone Company (SILZ) is making strides to enhance the nation’s logistics capabilities, aligning with Vision 2030. At the inaugural Global Logistics Forum, SILZ signed three significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with global and regional leaders to advance the “Riyadh Integrated,” the first special logistics zone in Saudi Arabia.
The agreements aim to boost industrial growth, diversify the economy, and create jobs. Key partnerships include:
- SHEIN will lease a custom facility, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s logistics and supply chain role.
- Collaboration with King Salman International Airport to enhance Riyadh’s air cargo capabilities.
- Creation of The White Palm Refinery with Valcambi and Ajlan & Bros, marking Saudi Arabia’s entry into the global precious metals market with its first LBMA-accredited refinery.
These partnerships focus on optimizing supply chains, introducing value-added services, and expanding logistics operations.
Dr. Fadi Al-Buhairan, CEO of SILZ, emphasized the importance of these collaborations in achieving Vision 2030 goals, highlighting the development of comprehensive value chains that offer resilience and cost savings.
Riyadh Integrated provides a robust ecosystem for light manufacturing, trade, and logistics, offering incentives like tax relief, 100% foreign ownership, and simplified certifications. The zone spans 3 million square meters near King Khalid International Airport, designed with industry leaders to support various activities, including recycling and value-added services.
