Saudi Arabia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with global packaging leader Sidel S.p.A. to explore launching Sidel’s operations within the Kingdom. The agreement was formalized in Paris during the official visit of His Excellency Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, to France.
Eng. Saleh AlSolami, CEO of the Saudi National Industrial Development Center, and Clive Smith, Executive Vice President Customer Management AOA at Sidel, signed the MoU. The ceremony was attended by Pietro Cassani, CEO of Sidel, and highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to industrial transformation and advancing Vision 2030 goals by partnering with international companies.
The partnership aims to assess the feasibility of establishing local services and programs to meet the Kingdom’s expanding needs in food and beverage packaging. This initiative is part of a broader effort to attract global expertise, encourage technology transfer, and build industrial capabilities in strategic sectors.
Eng. Yousef Dhahi, Vice President for Industrial Services at the National Industrial Development Program, noted that Sidel’s expertise is highly sought after by Saudi manufacturers, and the collaboration is expected to deliver significant value to the local industry.
