Saudi Arabia’s Food and Drug Authority is set to host the Generic Drugs Conference 2025 in Riyadh under the theme “Empowering Local Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: The Future of Generic Drugs in Saudi Arabia.” The event focuses on building a strong, sustainable pharmaceutical sector that supports public health and strengthens national drug security.
The conference will gather healthcare professionals, regulators, academics, investors, and major pharmaceutical companies. It is intended as a forum for open discussion, knowledge exchange, and alignment around the development of the generic and biosimilar medicines market in the Kingdom.
Key discussions will cover national strategies to boost drug security, investment incentives, and regulatory frameworks that support local manufacturing of generic drugs. Participants will also address research and development challenges, formulation issues, pricing and reimbursement policies, and market access conditions.
Supply chain resilience and adherence to good manufacturing practices will be central topics, with the aim of reinforcing public confidence in generic medicines. The program will feature panel discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities to encourage collaboration and innovation.
The conference targets all stakeholders involved in the development, regulation, production, and distribution of generic medicines. It comes at a crucial stage in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare transformation, where the pharmaceutical industry is seen as a key driver of public health sustainability, economic growth, and the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
