Riyadh — The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources is set to orchestrate the second installment of the Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) 2024, scheduled for next October. This prominent forum falls under the auspices of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The initiative is part of the Ministry’s commitment to bolstering partnerships with UNIDO and its programs, aiming to foster innovative industrial policies and solutions that promote industrial advancements on both regional and international levels.
Key features of the forum include a ministerial roundtable, which will gather various ministers and industrial transformation leaders from across the globe.
In-depth discussions will tackle industrial policies, challenges, and potential remedies. Dialogue sessions are planned to explore the integration of clean energy in industrial processes and to showcase exemplary global practices that enhance supply chain resilience and adaptability to change. Additionally, the forum will delve into the latest manufacturing digital technologies, with a focus on artificial intelligence.
Marking a first, the forum will convene in Riyadh, detaching from its usual venue at UNIDO’s headquarters in Vienna. The event is slated for October 23-24 and is themed “Transforming Challenges into Sustainable Solutions through Industrial Policies.”
The MIPF will not only serve as a platform to discuss industrial strategies but will also shine a light on Saudi Arabia’s industrial accomplishments via an accompanying exhibit. This exhibit will feature local initiatives and efforts to nurture burgeoning industries.
Aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Strategy, the forum underscores the kingdom’s dedication to enhancing the industrial sector’s competitiveness and fostering innovation and creativity within the field.
