A new showroom dedicated to advanced humanoid robots has opened in Riyadh, showcasing how robotics could soon become part of everyday industrial life in Saudi Arabia. The site, called the Humanoid Lounge, is located at the headquarters of QSS AI & Robotics and is open to the public.
The lounge is the result of a partnership between UK-based robotics firm Humanoid and Saudi Arabia’s QSS AI & Robotics. It offers live demonstrations, hands-on interaction with the robots, and educational workshops designed to help businesses and visitors understand real-world robotic applications.
At the launch event, the HMND 01 Alpha Wheeled – described by the company as the UK’s first industrial humanoid robot – carried out live simulations and teleoperation tasks. Visitors were also able to use a talk to a robot
feature, allowing direct human-robot interaction.
Under the partnership, Humanoid and QSS have set up a pre-order framework for up to 10,000 humanoid units to be rolled out over five years, according to the companies. QSS plans to handle local assembly at the Riyadh Robotics Factory, supporting rapid deployment in manufacturing, logistics, energy, retail, and public services across the Kingdom.
Artem Sokolov, founder and CEO of Humanoid, said the showroom is intended as a gateway for businesses to experiment with humanoid robots and scale up automation with confidence. Dr. Elie Metri, CEO of QSS, noted that combining Humanoid’s international expertise with QSS’s local capabilities aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and aims to position the Kingdom as a regional hub for advanced robotics.
The initiative fits into Saudi Arabia’s broader push to expand its high-tech and industrial sectors, using robotics as a key tool to diversify the economy and drive long-term growth.
