Saudi Arabia and Italy have launched discussions in Milan to strengthen economic, trade, and cultural cooperation. The Saudi delegation, led by Kamel Al-Munajjed, Chairman of the Saudi-Italian Business Council, marks the largest business mission from Saudi Arabia to Italy, according to the Saudi Ministry of Investment. Over 100 participants, including more than 20 officials from various ministries and agencies, are attending.
Delegates represent sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, logistics, tourism, food, agriculture, real estate, healthcare, and technology. The program features three business forums focused on industrial transformation, sustainable energy, smart cities, innovation, and supply chains, as well as visits to leading Italian companies.
The first Saudi-Italian Business Forum opened in Milan, with further meetings planned with Italian trade and industry organizations in the coming days. Business leaders like Abeer Al-Ghamdi, CEO of Hayyak Arabia Travel and Tourism, emphasized the aim to boost tourism to Saudi Arabia by promoting its diverse cultural attractions.
Yousef Maimani, board member of the Saudi-Italian Business Council, highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two countries, noting agreements on double taxation and investment protection. He pointed out that Saudi Arabia has recently attracted $96 billion in foreign investment, according to Arab News, and sees strong potential for Italian companies in Saudi projects.
Luca Barbi, Chief Operating Officer of Saudi Technology Ventures, expressed confidence that Italy’s expertise can contribute significantly to Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving market. The meetings underscore growing opportunities for collaboration between the two nations across multiple industries.
