Tetra Pak has been a key player in Saudi Arabia’s economic landscape for over four decades, aligning with the nation’s Vision 2030. The company’s factory in Jeddah has transformed Saudi Arabia into a central hub for packaging and manufacturing, exporting to 11 Middle Eastern countries.

Local production in Saudi Arabia allows Tetra Pak to reduce production times and enhance supply chain resilience, which significantly contributes to food security and supports the growth of the food packaging industry in line with Vision 2030’s economic goals.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Tetra Pak celebrates 44 years of fostering economic development and sustainability in the Kingdom with the launch of its ‘Made, consumed and recycled in Saudi Arabia’ campaign. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to economic diversification and its role in establishing Saudi Arabia as a regional leader in food packaging.

Since 1980, Tetra Pak has been instrumental in Saudi Arabia’s industrial growth. Its Jeddah factory, which produces millions of products annually, exports 40% of its output to 11 countries and has delivered over 165 billion products since 1998.

Niels Hougaard, Managing Director of Tetra Pak Arabia, highlighted the company’s dedication to Saudi Arabia’s economic development and Vision 2030. He noted that local production supports food security and helps local businesses innovate in both local and export markets.

As a pioneer in carton package recycling, Tetra Pak invested USD 3 million in Saudi Arabia’s first comprehensive recycling facility, in partnership with Obeikan Paper Industries and Saudi Top Plastics. This facility recycles 8,000 tonnes of carton packages annually, supporting sustainability goals and Vision 2030’s circular economy.

Tetra Pak is vital to Saudi Arabia’s food and beverage industry, with over 80% of local businesses using its equipment and packaging products. Local production at the Jeddah factory ensures shorter lead times and a robust supply chain, crucial amid regional logistical challenges.

By manufacturing locally, Tetra Pak strengthens food security and economic diversification. The company proudly displays the Saudi Made logo on all carton packages, emphasizing its commitment to the Kingdom and its local supply chain.
