Saudi Arabia’s Tasnee and China’s Shanghai Donghexin Group are joining forces to build the region’s first tinplate manufacturing plant in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City, located on the eastern coast of the Kingdom, according to Xinhua.
The facility is expected to begin operations by mid-2027 and will be capable of producing 400,000 tonnes of tinplate annually. Half of this output is planned for export.
This initiative is designed to boost local supply chains, especially for packaging, and provide essential materials for industries such as food and beverage, paints, oils, and chemicals.
