TrinaTracker, a subsidiary of Trinasolar Co. Ltd, is set to launch a new manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, scheduled to begin operations in early 2025. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to localization and aims to enhance its service capabilities across the Middle East and Africa.
The facility, part of an agreement with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), will be located in Jeddah’s 3rd Industrial City. With an annual production capacity of 3GW, it will focus on the Vanguard series of solar trackers and smart control systems. This will be TrinaTracker’s fourth plant, adding to its existing facilities in China, Spain, and Brazil.
Saudi Arabia’s solar market is projected to reach USD 125.2 billion by 2033, according to industry forecasts. The new factory aligns with this growth, furthering TrinaTracker’s localization and innovation efforts in the region.
Vincent Wu, Global Sales Vice President and MEA MU Head at Trinasolar, emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion. He stated that the new factory enhances localization efforts, improves service capabilities, and supports Saudi Vision 2030 by diversifying the energy mix and creating local jobs.
The facility will operate sustainably with zero pollutant emissions, aligning with the region’s clean energy goals. TrinaTracker’s solutions are designed to withstand Saudi Arabia’s challenging weather conditions, such as sandstorms and high temperatures. Their smart control system can increase energy yield by 8% annually, based on global project data.
Beyond manufacturing, the factory will offer faster delivery, enhanced technical support, and comprehensive service options. A dedicated team will provide training and on-site support, reinforcing Trinasolar’s commitment to its partners and clients.
Trinasolar is also contributing to the Middle East’s renewable energy transition through projects like the Abydos Battery Energy Storage Project in Egypt. This project achieved a milestone with a successful Factory Acceptance Test at Trina Storage’s Super-Factory in China, with shipments planned for February 2025.
Through local manufacturing expansion, energy solution optimization, and strategic partnerships, Trinasolar is pivotal in supporting the region’s energy goals, enhancing energy security, and driving economic growth towards a sustainable future.
