Johnson Controls Arabia has entered a strategic partnership with Modern Building Leaders (MBL) to supply and operate an advanced YORK cooling system for the new Ceer electric vehicle manufacturing plant in King Abdullah Economic City, according to Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group.
This collaboration features the installation of 12 YORK chillers and various cooling units, delivering a total capacity of 33,000 TR. The initiative is a key element in Saudi Arabia’s drive to develop its electric vehicle industry, supporting the country’s ambitions for innovation, sustainability, and technological advancement under Saudi Vision 2030.
Dr. Mohanad AlShaikh, CEO of Johnson Controls Arabia, highlighted the importance of this project, emphasizing the company’s commitment to smart and sustainable solutions, and the trust placed in YORK’s engineering expertise.
The agreement coincides with the launch of the region’s first YORK air-cooled chiller production line, capable of 600 tons, and the opening of Saudi Arabia’s first AHRI-certified testing lab for chillers of this size. These developments further establish Saudi Arabia as a regional leader in HVAC innovation.
Senior executives from all involved organizations, including Modern Building Leaders CEO Tareq Telmesani and Mohamed Fathy El Bordany, Plant Facility and Maintenance Director at Ceer, attended the inauguration.
This partnership reinforces Johnson Controls Arabia’s role in advancing industrial infrastructure with sustainable, high-efficiency cooling solutions that align with international standards.
