The Saudi Arabian and Turkish governments are actively seeking to fortify their relationship within the realms of industry and mining. The Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industry Affairs, Khalil Ibrahim Ibn Salamah, has been at the forefront of these dialogues during his trip to Türkiye, accompanied by key figures from the Saudi private sector.
Throughout the visit, the emphasis has been on pinpointing fertile ground for investments and the mutual enhancement of industrial capabilities between the two nations.
This diplomatic initiative is a strategic component of Saudi Arabia’s broader scheme to cultivate robust industrial ties with Türkiye.
In a series of high-level meetings, Ibn Salamah engaged with Haluk Görgün and Gökhan Uçar, the president and vice president of the Turkish Defense Industry Agency, respectively. The congregation was further dignified by the presence of Fahad bin Asaad Abualnasr, the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Türkiye.
Chairing a roundtable discussion at the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) headquarters, the deputy minister steered conversations towards expanding industrial and commercial partnerships. The table was shared with Turkish company representatives, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the talks.
Fostering cultural and educational ties, Ibn Salamah, along with Saudi Cultural Attaché in Türkiye Faisal Osra, also met with Saudi students studying in Istanbul, reinforcing the socio-academic connections that complement the industrial efforts.
